To help ensure your visit goes smoothly, we are providing the following information to make your stay with us as comfortable as possible.

The Day of Your Surgery or Procedure

If you are having surgery done at Tarzana Regional Medical Center please contact the admitting department and someone will be happy to answer your questions or concerns and get you pre-registered before your services are rendered.

What to Wear to the Hospital

Please dress in loose, comfortable clothing that can be folded for storage. We will provide a gown and slippers. Leave any jewelry, hair accessories and valuables at home.

You may wear contact lenses to the hospital, but you must remove them prior to surgery. Please bring a storage case with you.

During Surgery

During surgery and the initial recovery period, your family and friends may stay in the main lobby on the first floor (Tarzana Campus)

*Immediately following surgery, your physician will meet with your family in the waiting area to let them know how the procedure went and to discuss post-operative care.

Going Home

When you are ready to leave the hospital, a discharge order will be written. You should make arrangements with a family member or friend to help you. Discharge time is 11 a.m.

Discharge Instructions

Your physician and members of our staff will give you instructions about post-hospital care. If you have questions about your diet, activities or other matters, please be sure to ask your physician or nurse.
